All you really need to do is move the files to l4d2. I am guessing they are still working it out. I am pretty sure it doesn't even require recompiling.

Only L4D1 I believe. I'd be surprised it if was re-released for L4D2, and the SDK on that doesn't even have a release date either.

Use these instructions for both CC and DBD….

SERVER SIDE

Extract the CONTENTS of the folder to /left4dead. Pay attention that you extracted the CONTENTS of the DeadBeforeDawn folder directly into your left4dead folder.

INCORRECT: left4dead/DeadBeforeDawn (There must be NO DeadBeforeDawn folder, only the files and folders inside the DeadBeforeDawn folder)
CORRECT: /left4dead

If you install it to the addons folder on your server, it WILL NOT detect it.

the maps are very cool and it s a pure awesomeness to play them .
i found one thing that could be a bug , but it should come more from engine than map : at the map l4d_cc3 the bots pass the metal door so it does not open for player [ at least in single-player mode ] . i made an image of door :

the ending of forsaken is a black screen , i think you forget to add the same code of cc ending to it .
other things to rework is the size of objects to find in maps and the camera path of the opening of map l4d_cc2 and at l4d_cc4 : the camera is moving too fast and should be smoothed for direction changes.

i found that you could try to populate the maps with some hl2 characters and monsters .
some human allies could be added to prison maps : in jail or dead , some combine or css soldiers to the military zones . some monsters could be found in the nature : antlion , crabsynth for exemple while in some room antlion grubs with combine advisor .

i will try to make pics of places where i would like to see them 8]

What do I type to get it to start on the server?
Also can I copy all the folders into the left4dead folder like Deadbeforedawn?

Okay, first of all I appreciate the work, time and ideas for that campaign. We played it in around 4 hrs. on normal. But all in one, it feels more like Half-Life 2 just with Left 4 Dead Character-Models. Or better to say, a L4D-Mod for HL2.

There are also too many tasks to do (find key, find jewel etc.), which can be very frustrating, when you search and search and search to get the objective. Especially in that house, when you always get dissapointed by the horde while searching. It takes too much time. We had the feeling in these 4+ hrs., that there where 2 hrs. wasting time, just because of looking and searching around do to the objectives, with closed doors, then open, yadda yadda yadda. If I want to play such crap with riddles, I play an adventure.

Anyway, but the big thing, that pissed us of, was the hype about this campaign with these lots of maps, 10 maps in the 2-part-campaign. The last 4 - the Forsaken-Part - where just 4 from the first part, only reversed (going all back) with tiny little differents. Seriously, that must be a joke. That doesn't count at all.

Well then, I gave it a 5 out of 10. You may play it once or twice, then you will abandoned it for "real" L4D-feeling campaigns.

this makes Dead Before Dawn look extremly bad..ive had so much trouble with that campaign..bugs,and all sorts of crap..but this so far,has been flawless! and im nowhere even close to half way..im positive i'll be on here for many many more hours! amazing work

I don't want to spoil anything but I'm somewhat confused on the story, exactly who was agent orange and was Ryan good or bad? I got two endings but I can't really tell what the difference was. I guess the 6th map when it's released will explain more?

Much BETTER than DEAD BEFORE DAWN which has rediculous bugs and not even a finale or any sort of an ending.
