yes ,it's the weekend that…….

There are many things that we would throw away if we were not afraid that others might pick them up.The name arose because many of the northerners who went south arrived with all their possessions in a carpet LV Bags.Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful.

Re: EVENT UPDATE! by judasmaryjudasmary, 02 Jul 2011 02:39

to create this vpk was very crashy with vpk.exe , i looked to find other program especially in 64 bit but no one seems to do the creation of file .
so i used a software to edit the vpk.exe and make it able to use more than two Go of memory : The LaaTiDo utility that is at http://www.musikbanken.se/TechLaaTiDo.aspx
a more complex software that can do the same and more , is there http://www.ntcore.com/exsuite.php
with a patched by LaaTiDo vpk , the limit i found is somewhere around 2.430.000 ko http://a.imagehost.org/0435/2430Mo_max.jpg
by the way i tested again and again , removing some big size files in the map folder after each crash and finaly made a vpk of 2.096.911 ko with few missing files from the original archive :
l4d_cc2.bsp l4d_cc2.nav l4d_cc5.bsp l4d_cc5.nav l4d_cctf4.bsp l4d_cctf5.bsp l4d_vs_cctf4.bsp l4d_vs_cctf5.bsp and crap.zip plus four tmp files . that is about 380 Mo . http://i.imagehost.org/0542/vpk_done.jpg
i removed maps because that can not cause a file missing error , i saw some folders : editor 2 Mo or temp 73 Mo that should be deletable .
i tested the resulting vpk with l4d2 but crash occurs in a few minutes after players are spawneds . i have a new pc that only have l4d2 , l4d is on a hd of the 24 Go ram pc but motherboard is on its way to be exchanged by a new one .
i uploaded coldcase.7z 834.13 MB according to Megaupload that has the cc.vpk made with option -M at http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HFMTHYCK .
have fun finding the right files to keep , for it to be correctly handled by l4d , that should open a path for a " Coldcase Light Edition " using vpk and the " Redux Coldcase " that will be extracted if there is no update to the l4ds to correct the "too big size of vpk" bug .

It's still nice to know you continue thinking about the project form time to time and do want to make updates to it. I always understood everything, but now it's all clarified even further.

Family comes first, dude, always… priorities. Your fiance of 3 years (and you must've known her even longer than that) must be very loving, understandable, supportive, as well as patient to have stuck with you for so long. Take care of her first.

You'll find a job/career soon, don't give up! I don't doubt you have a solid enough portfolio. Keep being persistent as always, you'll find something.

Hang in there. by Ryan Trunten (guest), 22 Mar 2010 19:28

Hey all, if we can donate enough then he will continue working on it. As these map makers take alot of time to make them and he has bills to pay. The sound of the complete campaign sounds like its going to kick ass!! People donated to the dawn before dead map guy and that map was decent but not as good as Cold Case!

i am playing it and i can say it has very different mood than the common l4d gaming. It brings more sense to all that zombie killing, it really puts the finger on the story that valve was shy to tell about (they were incinuating you like the previous things that happened in USA before you started the game so you can have your own conclusions). But in this game you really made it happen!! This is a white globe snap on valve´s face so they can see what can they really do because they are the ones who have the "money", and you my friend did a wonderful peace of work here: congratulations (still playing it, is hard and long enough for challenging any l4d expert)

You have some extra files in the zip. Too bad valve doesn't have a program to separate out the bad files

by Afk (guest), 30 Nov 2009 23:35

I'm not going to talk about it due to contractual obligations, however if I can I will let you guys know :). That and to be frank, I want to make something from scratch. The vpk limitations are really due to the fact I used too many custom materials and models from ep2, and hl2. This basically means unless valve AGAIN increases their vpk sizes, CC will never see a vpk, (or the vs campaigns). The new project will be completely in L4D and L4D2, so it will be as long, however only a fraction of the dl size.

All you really need to do is move the files to l4d2. I am guessing they are still working it out. I am pretty sure it doesn't even require recompiling.

Only L4D1 I believe. I'd be surprised it if was re-released for L4D2, and the SDK on that doesn't even have a release date either.
